Kalamazoo’s Central Business District is the center point of southwest Michigan’s largest metropolitan area. Nearly 15,000 people work downtown in the Central Business District, and approximately 1,200 people call downtown their home.
Neighborhood.
Kalamazoo Commons is located in the center of the most walk-able neighborhood in Kalamazoo with a Walk Score of 81. An array of restaurants, entertainment, cultural experiences, shops and so much more are in walking distance of apartments at Kalamazoo Commons. The historic outdoor Kalamazoo Mall is within 2 blocks of Kalamazoo Commons. Downtown Kalamazoo is also home to a diverse assortment of music, art, theater, events, and festivals, so there are always plenty of things to do.

Education.
Three extraordinary higher education institutes reside in proximity to Downtown Kalamazoo, including: Western Michigan University, Kalamazoo College and Kalamazoo Valley Community College. Western Michigan University Homer Stryker M.D. School of Medicine, a downtown campus, is located directly across the street from our apartments on East South Street. Kalamazoo Commons is also located in the Kalamazoo Public School District, which allows students to participate in the incredible Kalamazoo Promise program.

Kalamazoo and its surrounding areas have a number of incredible parks and recreational facilities nearby, which are available to the public. Whether you enjoy walking your dog at the park or hiking and biking on the trails, Kalamazoo has plenty of opportunities for everyone.

The night-life scene is vibrant and alive within downtown Kalamazoo. An assortment of unique and exceptional bars, breweries and dining establishments are available for your enjoyment.
